I was so excited when I saw WRIT 5320 - Advanced Writing with Technology’s course title and jumped at the opportunity to take it .
The unique course work throughout the semester taught me to utilize the technology I have access to, while simultaneously thinking forward to anticipate the ways in which digital preservation can aide the longevity of my projects.
Throughout the semester I created a SciFi movie trailer and an interactive literature piece. When brainstorming what I wanted these pieces to communicate I thought about class discussion. We often discussed the way technology is stereotyped as either having the power to create or the power to destroy. I took this juxtaposition and paired it aspects of my life that either benefited greatly from technology or that were devoid of technology.
I had so much fun experimenting with platforms like Twine, WordPress and iMovie and can’t wait to keep pushing my understanding of technology’s role in my life.
